So I just spent the last 45 minutes fiddling around in an attempt to make this blog look intriguing, yet subtle and unpretentious. I spend as much time thinking of a  title as I ever will on a single entry. Which just goes to show why I've avoided this for so long. Writing a blog poses so much temptation for me. Mostly because it's so easy to sound good on paper. It's even easy to write about sin and fear and failure and sound good. But just ask my husband or my daughter or my sister or my close friends how those same sins and fears and failures feel when they're on the receiving end. Do you see the difference?

But that said, I have to agree with Rose Marie - that there is such a thing as God given confidence that our lives have meaning, not just for ourselves, but for those around us. And honestly, there are days where I just have to get what's inside my head out. And sometime a private journal is the best place for that, but sometimes, oftentimes, isn't it nice to be able to think out loud?

And so that's what I aim to do here, God willing. Think out loud and try to let my life be a window (sometimes clean, often murky) of God's remarkable, unfathomable grace.

  1. I think this is a wonderful idea, since we're asked to "exhort one another daily." I'm sure this will make you a little more connected to those in your life, which is always a good thing. Thinking out loud has been super productive for me as well.

  2. I was so excited to see that you started a blog! I relate to your comment about picking out the name/title - whether it's for a business, a blog, or a child, choosing a name is sometimes the hardest part of getting started. I look forward to reading your posts and I love the opening quote.
